Super Bowl hero warns of 'anarchy' if NY approves gay marriage

Why do people who oppose same-sex marriage use the same two arguments? "God doesn't like it" and "Same-sex parents are ill-equipped to raise a child of the opposite sex." This guy actually said, "...So two men will never be able to teach a woman how to be a woman." Really? Is that what you really think? Some of the gay men I know are more feminine then some of the women I know. Also, I noticed that he only mentioned two men and not two women. Granted, that is just a small quote from the that made it into the article and I haven't seen the video he released, but it sounds like he is only "targeting" gay men. Sounds like latent homosexuality to me.

I'll give you the argument that same-sex marriage goes against religion and there are even quotes in the Bible about not laying with another man as if with a woman. I think it even says the two will "...surely be put to death." But, the Bible also talks about people who work on the Sabbath will be put to death. And, when a woman is having her (monthly) issue, she is to leave the village and basically sleep out in the woods or fields for a week. Oh yeah, and then there's the part about sacrificing a goat and dove or somesuch afterward.

However, I have issue with the argument that same-sex parents are ill-equipped to raise children. So, if these people think that two men won't know how to raise a daughter then what does that say about single fathers? The same goes for single mothers - my younger brother and I were raised by a single mother and we turned out just fine. My brother has two happy, well-balance children and he's a great father. I don't have children but it's not for lack of trying (wink, wink). But, I also know "traditional" opposite-sex couples who were terrible parents and should have never spawned.

I think my biggest concern is that these people are trying to dictate the behavior of others based on their own beliefs. "Judge not lest ye be judged." If God gave you the right to tell other people how to live, then I want to see the notarized contract. Members of same-sex marriages are NOT hurting other people. Same-sex marriages are NOT going to cause the downfall of society.
