Last month, I ranted about how Microsoft asked for an alternate email address in order to confirm I am who I say I am. I was able to access my account that day, but now I can't. Anytime I try to, I'm take to a "Help us protect your account. To continue, check your email and enter the code we just sent you." page which lists the alternate email address I gave them before - I have no idea why they can't use my PRIMARY email address - but I don't receive any code.

At the bottom of the page, it says "Not using this email address anymore?" So, follow the "Update your info" link, cancel the "alternate" email address and add my PRIMARY email address. But, instead of this taking affect today - 08/17/2012 - it won't take affect until 09/16/2012. So... I HAVE TO WAIT A FRAKKING MONTH BEFORE I CAN MAKE ANY CHANGES TO MY ACCOUNT!? How frakking stupid is that?! And, there is no "Contact Us" or "Need Help?" links or anything like that.



ETA: To be honest, the problems I'm having with this confirmation code isn't all on Microsoft. Yahoo is to blame as to why I'm not actually getting the emails. I have sent 5 or 6 emails to that address this morning and only received 3.
