Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted anything. Looking at my blog archive, in 2008 I posted 47 times (I started using Blogger in October 2008); 2009 - 89 posts; 2010 - 69 posts; 2011 - 52 posts; 2012 - 28 posts; 2013 - 8 post; and, in 2014, I posted a whopping 2 times. I need to get back into the habit of posting.

Three years and nine days to be exact. Only a couple things have changed, but they're kinda biggies.

In July of 2014 - almost three years ago - I was laid off from a company I had been with for over 12 years. I was able to find another job pretty quick, and I'm even making more than I was making before. However, it was a contract position with a chance to be hired on full time after six months. Plus, I had to move from Texas (where I had lived all my life - a little over 49 years) to Ohio.

Moving to Ohio was very stressful. Since it had been less than three years since we closed on the house, we were not in a position to sell it. Luckily, my wife's brother and his wife were looking for a house so they are living in it and helping out with the mortgage payments.

Finding a place to live in Ohio was a little frustrating. Since we couldn't sell our house in Texas, we had to rent an apartment in Ohio. The trouble with the apartment scene up here is, when searching online, you have to weed through all the sites for condos and whatnot. The same goes for driving around the area where you want to live. But, we finally found something - I only had to live at Extended Stay for about a month - and we are 6 to 7 minutes from work - my wife and I work for the same company again.

The weather is much cooler than Texas. Granted, being so close to the Great Lakes, it's also more humid. For instance, currently in Fort Worth, it is 90° and the humidity level is 36%. Here, in Dublin Ohio, it's 79° with 55% humidity. Plus, here it only hits 100° for a few days during the summer. Actually, I don't think it even hit 100° last summer. Last year in Texas, there were several days OVER 100°. Plus, we've had snow every winter since we moved up here. I Love Snow!
