Study: Flight delays to get worse as economy improves. I have two questions regarding this article. 1. Did someone really need to do a "study" to come to this conclusion? 2. Is this really news?

According to this article, "Though the percentage of delayed U.S. flights has dipped recently because fewer planes are flying during the recession, there's been a 20-year trend of increasing delays, and the increases should continue once economic growth returns..." Well, no shit, Sherlock! The economy's in the crappy, so less people are flying, which means less delays at the airports. And, once the economy picks up again, people will go back to flying. Cheese and Crackers! A 12 year old could have told you that.

The study also says, "...the majority of delays was concentrated in 26 metropolitan areas, or hub cities..." That's like saying, "Studies show that car traffic is more congested in the area where multiple roads intersect."

CNN.com needs to add a new category of news. World News - U.S. News - Politics - DUH!
