I finally got tired of having to fix the Bug so I bought a new car. 2009 Hyundai Accent - 2 door hatchback (Hyundai calls it a 3 door). It is not much bigger than the Bug, which is one of the reasons I picked it.

Length - The Accent is less than an inch longer
Width - The Accent is 5.7 inches wider
Height - The Bug is an inch and a half taller
Wheelbase - The Accent has a 3.9 inch longer wheelbase
Weight - The Accent is 660 pounds heavier (electronics, smog control and whatnot)
Turning Radius - The Accent's is 2.9 inches tighter
Fuel Tank - The Accent can hold 1.3 more gallons of gas AND gets much better gas mileage, which is another reason I picked it.

These pics are a little bright, but they capture the color of the car really well. I haven't decided what to do with the Bug. I can't decide if I want to keep it and start doing some of the work that I've been putting off because it was my daily driver, or just sell it. Keeping it means spending money to do the stuff to it that I want to do, plus it means keeping insurance on it for when I do drive it. But, since it broke down on me Saturday - less than a mile from home (after driving over to Central Expressway in Dallas on Friday and driving home on Saturday - 60 miles round trip) - I'm starting to lean more towards selling it.
