I just read this article on cnn.com. What happened to turning the other cheek? What happened to letting people live their own lives the way they want to live them?

According to this group's website, "Any religion which would profess anything other than this truth is of the devil. This is why we also take a stand against Islam, which teaches that Jesus is not the Son of God, therefore taking away the saving power of Jesus Christ and leading people straight to Hell,"

If that's the case, Jews do not believe that Jesus was the Son of God, so why not burn the Hebrew Bible too? Which, by the way, is pretty much the Old Testament of the Holy Bible. Granted, that is in a very broad since, but still. But, when it comes to Jesus, the Jewish faith teaches (basically) that Christ did not even exist, because they do not believe in the concept of immaculate conception. Islam, on the other hand, teaches that, not only did Christ exist, he was a prophet sent from God.

And, while we are on the subject of holy scripture, the New Testament has some teachings that differ from the Old Testament. And, these were the teachings of Christ. I am not going to say the Quran expands on the Old or the New Testaments. I have read both the Bible and the Quran, but only once. I know the Quran has some very different views about the treatment of women, but the Old Testament has some very different views as well. The message I get from both is to treat others as you would want to be treated. And, one very important teaching I get from the New Testament is judge not, lest ye be judged.

I wonder if Terry Jones has even read the Quran or if he knows anything at all about Islam other than what he has heard on TV or seen in movies.
